I am actually surprised that you had to manually reboot at all, the patch usually does that for you  already.

At least you got it working. Enjoy! ?

It seems like you are familiar with the workings of the patch, so maybe you can answer the question.

Do you know all the files that we change on the system?

I thought the only thing we modify on the system itself is the "clientca-prod.pem" file and everything else was local to our computer. But obviously I am wrong. Do you know the list of files we change. So I can make a backup of them and just swap them back to see if that doesn't lock out my dealer. I just had to pay for 2 hours of his to try nd figure out how to login to my system (swapping old clientca-prod.pem didn't help). He had to reinstall the system and finally then could login. But even now that he can login locally, 4sight isn't working so he will be trying to trouble shoot that. Which is wierd considering they did a reinstall (so maybe there is a change that carries over the saved backup .c4l file).

So after he figures all this out, before I reapply the patch to start editing things, I want to know for sure that I can reverse EVERYTHING we do.

I have no idea how the cert thing works. lol

I have used the meekah patch and patch director, etc to semi successfully crack composer.  i can add devices, but for some reason, in programming, it says "read only".  any ideas?

You are probably using a composer version that is different from the OS version. They *must* match.

All, as an end user I have Composer HE.  I had to recently reset my 7" touchscreen CA-TW7C0.  It went back to old firmware (I knew this would happen).  I want to get the screen back up to 2.10...~.  Can this be done remotely by a C4 tech, or do they need to come to the house?

Thanks

If your system is still enabled for remote access, they can update to the latest supported firmware which I believe is 2.9.1 despite your controller being on 2.10.x. From my experience the following models stop at 2.9.1 but you can still get intercom to work by following the correct instructions:

C4-TSMC7-EN-BL

C4TW7C0-EG

C4-TSWMC5-EG

C4-TSWMBCM7DS-EG

The main difference to me from the older screens to newer models is screen resolution and video intercom capabilities. Not to mention a non sensical wired/wireless bug at random (trust me its not the wiring).

Hello everyone, totally new to this control4/composer, so forgive me if posting in the wrong area.

have done a lot of reading, and have with great success been able to make 2.5.3 work and get into my project. the issue I'm having is that I can not by the life of me register the controller. I have already try both the original C4 cert patch and the modify one in the especial 2.5.3 composer.

I have been able to unlock the project, make changes, but I can not register the controller. is there a more up to date cert that I have to use? if so where can I find that

thanks for your help.

erroceres,

Is the controller registered on Control4's website?

Does your project have the controller driver installed?

Have you been able to get any version of Composer Pro greater than 2.5.3 to work?
