EA-1 Issues
I have 2 EA-1 controllers. One was running 2.10.6. I plugged it in to network, started Composer Pro and it immediately came up. Worked on my project and everything was going well. I saved project, and had to walk away and my PC went to sleep. When I came back the Director was disconnected. When I tried to reconnect it has ceased to exist. My network won't even give the EA-1 an IP address as it doesn't find it. Can't ping it. It has 2 blue lights on front, behind C4 logo and power. When I restart it nothing seems to happen. Trying factory reset does nothing. Like it bricked somehow. Ideas to fix welcome
My second EA1 is V2. It starts fine, has 2.10.4 on it and I can load the file I saved above. However when I go to upgrade it to 2.10.6 I get the following screen. See screenshot. When i load in composer it says it is 2.10.4 but upgrade manager doesn't seem to know what version it has. Errors would imply I'm missing the primary controller, but other message seems to imply not registered properly. Again any assistance would be much appreciated.
Uploaded files:UPDATE - The issue with the second EA-1 in my post above was that it was not registered as the primary controller. After finding a different thread about registering an EA-1 on this forum, the following steps
- Create an account on customer.control4.com
- Go to register device and get the code to register in Composer Pro
- If you are using any of the EA devices as a primary controller you must use version of Composer Pro 2.9+ to add the EA device to your system. You can not install an EA in 2.5.3 so it must be added in later version. Save the setup and exit
- Open Composer Pro 2.5.3 and go to Tools -> Account Services. Enter the registration code from step 2 and register. Ignore the errors you might get using an older version of Composer
- You are now registered. Close 2.5.3 and open the more modern version 2.10.4 in my case. I was then able to see the update and status of the EA-1 in the Update Manager and updated to 2.10.6 and finish my project.
