I want to install Composer on my new laptop.  How do I accomplish this without affecting my already cracked and working director?  Do I only perform the steps that are needed for composer and not the steps needed for director?  Should I just copy and paste applicable files from my working Composer on my 'old' laptop?  If so, which files should I duplicate.

I want to keep my options open also.  I may occasionally still want to use Composer on my old laptop.
