OS3 worth it with HC800
Hi. I have an HC800 running OS2.10. I basically just having it running the lighting and whole home audio, no video or anything. I hadn't tried an upgrade to OS3 since I have some older wall-mount control panels that are not compatible. But, frankly, we almost never use the control panels anyway since the interface is so painfully slow. So I'm thinking of just taking them out and replacing them with an iPad running the OS3 app. But I'm curious if people think this is a bad idea. Is the HC800 fast enough to run OS3 reasonably (with a relatively simple config)? And how much more troublesome is the cracking process for OS3 vs. OS2.10? Thanks?
I have no experience on os 2.1, but i can tell you that the hc800 is very fast on os3.
please remain, that you will lose the on screen display from hc800. There a a several devices that also wont work on os3.
cracking is quite easy if you are very familiar with composer and the certificates process.
If moving from 2.10 to 3.0, besides older touchscreens, what else will not work? HC250 are already out in 2.10 so those aren't a factor. I'm still on 2.10 and want to upgrade to take advantage of the 3..0 interface.
